Patty Smith
Patty Smith is an artist/printmaker and book artist who lives and works in Philadelphia, PA. Her work is exhibited nationally and internationally, including in New York, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Paducah, Seoul, Venice, Lorca, Paris, and Tokyo.
She is included in print and special collections at numerous institutions and libraries such as the Bibliotheca Alexandria, Egypt, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Yale University, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Smith has been an artist-in-residence at Scuola Internazionale di Grafica, Venice Italy, the Women's Studio Workshop, Rosendale, NY, The Tyrone Guthrie Center, Ireland and In Cahoots Residency, Petaluma.
Smith is Professor Emerita, The University of the Arts, Philadelphia where she was the Coordinator of Printmaking, Director of the MFA Book Arts/Printmaking program and Professor of Fine Arts. She is currently on the board of the Brandywine Workshop and Archives, Philadelphia and the American Color Print Society. She earned an MA from the Philadelphia College of Art (the University of the Arts), studied Japanese woodblock at the Yoshida Hanga Academy in Tokyo Japan and earned a BA from Immaculata College.
